Black Redstart
The Black Redstart is a small robin-sized bird that has adapted to live at the centre of industrial and urban areas. It is a Schedule 1 protected species under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 (as amended). Fewer than 100 breeding pairs nest in the UK consequently the black redstart is on the amber list of Birds of Conservation Concern.
Cambridge Ecology ideally prefer to be involved at an early stage in assignments, enabling them to identify potential issues quickly and to plan accordingly.  This allows workable solutions to be incorporated into the scheme design at an early stage, which often reduces the complexity and costs associated with ecological mitigation measures.

Our Aim
To bring our extensive experience of field-based research in the UK and overseas to gather high quality, robust data to deliver quality results on behalf of clients.  Our judgments and advice are based on a high quality evidence base. This informs the ecological assessment process ensuring effective measures are prescribed and brought forward through effective consultation.

To provide ecological services which are fully integrated with the other technical disciplines involved in commercial development.

To provide our clients with solutions that allow their projects to proceed on schedule and which also deliver an ecological strategy that they can market and use to demonstrate leadership and corporate responsibility in best practice and high quality design.
